"Claire C. - Wokingham - August 2018
We have had a very relaxing 2 week holiday here in Monticiano. The villa had everything we needed and was comfortable and clean. We used the barbecue a lot and on two evenings fired up the pizza oven which was definitely worth doing. We made our own pizza dough early in the morning and got the fire started early evening. The whole family had fun adding toppings and keeping the fire going. A roaring success!!
Places to visit:
Siena - we went twice. Our first visit was Palio week, which was fun and great to see the city all decked out in flags but it was packed full of visitors and locals enjoying the atmosphere, and it was virtually impossible to park. Visited again yesterday and it was much more pleasant, more shops appeared to be open and the square looked beautiful!
San Gimignano - absolutely stunning, a must see. Beautiful towers and the views of the Tuscan countryside from La Rocco were breathtaking.
San Galgano - the ruins are worth a visit although we didn’t pay to go inside. We walked up the hill to see the sword in the stone and enjoyed a glass of local wine at the wine bar.
Eating out - would definitely recommend Da Vestra they fitted us in on a busy night and warned us there would be a delay if we wanted pizza. We were happy to wait and enjoyed the charcuterie board while we waited. Both the antipasti and pizza were worth waiting for! The staff were happy to chat.
Also, after our day in Siena we revisited Osteria alla Piazza, which we had stopped at on our journey to the villa. Both visits the food was amazing, and the menu included wild boar, rabbit, stag as well as a good fish menu. Prices were very reasonable and views spectacular.
Beware when driving at night, we were returning from our visit to Siena when a very large wild boar lumbered out into the road in front of our car. Thankfully, we were travelling slowly due to the windy roads and because it was dark. However, I have to say it was great to see such a magnificent animal walking round in his own environment.
The rest of the time we spent relaxing at the villa and around the pool. Everyone had a great time. And we shall be sad to leave."
Propriété impeccable, disponibilité de la gérante et confort.

Thank you Ms Raffaella for letting us borrow your villa, we have made some very special memories whilst we have been here.
Simple booking process and good communication. Detailed info and photos online ensured no hidden surprises and our holiday went v smoothly. Great to deal with. Happy with everything - kitchen was a little small though.
Italian Breaks, in the person of Giulia Astori responded promptly and helpfully to a specific enquiry; and in response to a request for assistance in finding a suitable holiday house in the area we wanted Giulia found us an appropriate place very quickly. She continued to be helpful and supportive in subsequent telephone conversations.\n\nAll in all, it was both a pleasure and a reassurance to deal with her.
