In Paestum there are three temples and an amphitheatre. The public has access to the ancient city up to one hour before sunset. The museum of Paestum is also worth a visit.
The Cilento coast is made up of several characteristic and picture perfect fishing villages. One of which is Acciaroli that the local legend claims is the setting which inspired Hemingway to write his famous novel "The Old Man and the Sea".
There are many more wonderfully interesting sites in the National Park of Cilento, which are worth a visit: the ancient town of Velia with its "Pink Gate", Palinuro and its beautiful blue caves, Roscigno Vecchia, a village that has remained intact ever since it was abandoned 100 years ago.
